On May 18, 2025–what would have been her 38th birthday–a celebration dinner was held in honor of the late Eleanor Estebanez, whose memory inspired the founding of the Little Lions, Big Hearts Foundation. The gathering took place at a restaurant in Westchester County, New York and brought together over a dozen attendees. These included Eleanor’s husband, family members, friends, and neighbors.
The evening served as both a remembrance of Elie’s life and a reflection on the values she represented. Guests shared stories, memories, and moments of gratitude for the impact she had on those around her. The setting was intimate and warm, with a sense of community that reflected the spirit in which the foundation was established.
The Little Lions, Big Hearts Foundation, created in Eleanor’s honor, aims to carry forward her legacy through compassionate support for others—particularly children and families in need. Its mission, which can be read about here, continues to be rooted in love and service, reflecting the character of the woman who inspired it.
Throughout the dinner, attendees expressed appreciation not only for Elie’s memory but for the opportunity to reconnect and support one another. It was a night filled with laughter, reflection, and a shared commitment to keeping her legacy alive.
The celebration underscored how deeply Eleanor is missed and how powerfully her life continues to bring people together. The foundation created in her name serves as a lasting tribute, reminding all who knew her—and even those who didn’t—of the enduring strength of love, community, and care.
